Westboro Station

Westboro Station is a multi-phase, mixed-use development located along Richmond Road in Ottawa’s Westboro Village. Bordered by four different neighbouring conditions, the landscape design responds clearly to a pedestrian-friendly, urban streetscape while also blending into the adjacent community of single-family homes and Byron Linear Park.

The development respects the historic character of Westboro Village through its pedestrian oriented streetscapes, green space, roof terraces, and material selections. A continuation of the façades along Richmond Road, the residential towers are stepped back vertically to establish a strong two-storey relationship with the street. This activates the commercial frontage to create inviting and comfortable pedestrian spaces in an increasingly dense streetscape.

Westboro Station est un aménagement polyvalent, réalisé en plusieurs phases, le long du chemin Richmond dans le quartier Westboro d'Ottawa. À l’intersection de quatre quartiers différents, le projet propose un paysage urbain convivial pour les piétons, tout en s’intégrant harmonieusement aux maisons unifamiliales environnantes et au parc linéaire Byron.

L'aménagement respecte le caractère historique du quartier de Westboro grâce à ses rues piétonnes, ses espaces verts, ses toits-terrasses et ses choix de matériaux. Les tours résidentielles, en retrait par rapport aux façades le long de la rue Richmond, établissent une relation forte avec la rue. Cette disposition permet d’animer les façades commerciales et de créer des espaces piétonniers accueillants et confortables dans un quartier urbain en pleine densification.
