University of Ottawa Tabaret Hall

Tabaret Hall is the face of the University of Ottawa, and easily the most recognizable building on campus. While the university has continued to rapidly expand, Tabaret Hall and the supporting landscape has become degraded over time. With the addition of roadways, parking lots, and loading requirements, much of the historical character had been lost. A detailed historical landscape and architectural study guided the redesign of the site to restore the historical character while also meeting the functional requirements of a modern and sustainable university campus.

The completed project boasts a renewed building façade, Great Lawn, and a Grande Allée that complements the grandeur of the Hall, highlighting the front door of the university.

Tabaret Hall, ou pavillon Tabaret, est le bâtiment le plus emblématique de l'Université d'Ottawa. Alors que l'université a continué à se développer rapidement, Tabaret Hall et le paysage qui l'entoure se sont dégradés au fil du temps. L'ajout des routes, des stationnements et des exigences en matière de chargement ont entraîné la perte d'une grande partie du son caractère historique. Une étude détaillée du paysage et de l'architecture a guidé le réaménagement du site afin de le restaurer tout en répondant aux exigences fonctionnelles d'un campus moderne et durable.

Le projet achevé présente une nouvelle façade de bâtiment, une grande pelouse et une grande allée qui complète la grandeur du Hall, mettant en valeur la porte d'entrée de l'université.
