| Transit systems, roadways,
railways and airports have become the focus of a good portion of
everyday life. Over the past twenty-seven years, Corush Sunderland
Wright Limited has participated in many multi-disciplinary teams on
a wide range of related projects. The firm's vision of human and
memorable place making, involves broadening and enriching the
functional programs of transportation facilities. Our main design
objective has always been to try and enhance the human experience of
mobility through these particular environments. By examining a
project in relation to views, natural landscape or urban fabric,
potential land impacts, pedestrian and bicycle movement, buffering
of adjacent neighbourhoods, viewsheds and safety concerns, we are
able to achieve this goal quite effectively.
Inherent in our design approach is a commitment to propose
affordable and maintainable solutions. Detailed design and hands-on
approach to construction allows us to examine life cycle costing and
sound environmental applications. Our membership and involvement in
the Transportation Association of Canada, the Transportation
Research Board |
(National Research Council,
U.S.A.), and the Canadian and American Societies, of Landscape
Architecture has expanded our knowledge and understanding of
transportation issues and trends in and outside of Canada.
